Appearance

This teenage girl of Hispanic roots has long, dark hair. She has a slim figure and tired eyes. We see her in multiple outfits throughout the show, one being her Burgerphile uniform.

Career and Life

Hortence is a employee at the restaurant chain Burgerphile, who gets promoted to regional manager due to her services during events of the show.

While not stated in the show, but by the official Facebook page, Hortence is underage: 14 years of age in the episode she is introduced. Dan and her share some close moments, but they never get to have a relationship, since she leaves the city for her promotion and moves to Santa Monica (S1E20). This is followed by her agreeing to marry Jeremiah Burger, her boss, at age 15. She formally invites Dan to the wedding, but he sets his mind to stop her from the marriage – less for moral or legal reasons, but for his own affection towards her. The wedding is indeed stopped and Jeremiah is sent to the hospital. All this doesn’t work out in Dan's favor and Hortence assures that she will still get married to Jeremiah and both will move far away.

Personality and Traits

She seems to be quickly attached to men who show interest and kindness towards her. The interest could also be towards men of power. She states, however, that she sincerely loves Jeremiah.
When she is first introduced, she seems very naive and influence-able, but takes action when needed. In the next episode we see her, which takes place about one year later, her appearance and expressions are more mature.
